Dreaming about Falling While Flying

Flight that begins well but loses altitude, or shifts mid-dream into a falling sensation. The change in state is itself the symbol, distinct from steady flight or pure falling.

Common interpretations

  • Jungian

The transition from flight to fall is often read in the Jungian frame as the moment a psychic inflation collapses. The dreamer has been operating from a stance the inner ground cannot support, and the dream stages the correction. The reading typically asks what the dreamer was doing or believing in the moments before the descent began.

You are gliding confidently, then suddenly cannot stay up and begin to drop. The image often marks a self-image or aspiration that has run ahead of what is actually sustainable.
