Dreaming about Walled garden

A garden enclosed by walls, often entered through a single gate or door. The defining feature is the boundary: the garden as something protected, hidden, or kept apart.

Common interpretations

  • Jungian

The walled garden has a long history as an image of the temenos, the protected inner space where psychic work can happen without intrusion. In the Jungian frame, dreaming of a walled garden often points to the need for, or the existence of, a sealed-off inner area where something tender is being held or grown. The wall is part of the meaning, not an obstacle to it.

Finding a small door in a stone wall that opens onto a garden you did not know existed often reflects the discovery of an interior resource: a part of the self that has been quietly preserved.
